May is the time we Plant our Garden!
Once May comes around, my husband and I visit the local nursery for vegetables and flowers. My husband cleared out an area on the side of our house, framed it out in wood, added all purpose garden soil and every year he plants our little garden. We call it “Poppy’s Garden”.
When the grandkids come to visit they run to my kitchen cabinet and grab a Tupperware bowl and head out to the garden. They come back with cucumbers, peppers, string beans, zucchini, eggplant and tomatoes. Yes! They love the cherry tomatoes, “Just pick the red ones”, I say but of course there are always some green ones in the bowl!
